Welcoming New Pet Families With Compassionate Care

We’re so glad you’re here and look forward to caring for your pet. To make your visit as smooth as possible, paperwork is emailed to you at the time of check-in. If you prefer, we’re happy to send it ahead of time.

Our goal is to create a calm and stress-free environment for both you and your pet. We offer a comfortable waiting room, but if your pet prefers a quieter space, you’re welcome to wait in your car until it’s time to be seen, just call when you arrive.

When you arrive at Urgent Paws, a team member will triage your pet to determine the urgency of their condition. Pets needing immediate care will be seen right away, while stable patients are seen in the order they arrive.

Once it's your pet’s turn, we’ll take a brief medical history before bringing them to our treatment area for a full set of vitals, including temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and an evaluation of their mucous membranes. We also assess your pet’s fear, stress, and pain to help ensure a more comfortable experience.

Your pet will rest in a safe, quiet holding area until the veterinarian is ready to perform a complete exam.

Your pet will receive a comprehensive examination by the veterinarian, assisted by a trained veterinary team member. From nose to tail, we carefully assess for any abnormalities, signs of pain, or other health concerns.



After the exam, we’ll discuss our findings with you and work together to create a personalized treatment plan. This may include diagnostics, imaging, and recommended therapies to support your pet’s health and well-being.

Most diagnostics and treatments are performed in our state-of-the-art treatment area. In-house testing allows us to deliver timely results and begin therapies right away when needed.



During their time in hospital, your pet will receive gentle, compassionate care with their comfort as a top priority. We provide species-specific spaces, complete with cozy blankets, hiding boxes for cats, pheromone therapy, and other creature comforts to help reduce stress and promote healing.

Once your pet’s diagnostic results are available, our team will review their condition with you and explain any ongoing therapies, medications, and aftercare instructions. We’ll also provide written discharge instructions summarizing the visit, so you have everything you need at home. We also communicate directly with your primary care veterinarian to ensure seamless, coordinated care moving forward.

This includes checking in on your pet the next day to ensure there are no questions or concerns that arose after your visit.
